MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The Russian Foreign Ministry is studying the reports on the removal of three children from a Russian national by Finnish authorities, the ministry's human rights ombudsman said Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Finnish human rights activist Johan Baeckman reported that three children were taken away from their Russian mother in the Finnish town of Seinaejoki and sent to a children’s shelter.
"We are exploring the situation," Ombudsman Konstantin Dolgov told RIA Novosti commenting on the incident.
According to Baeckman, Seinaejoki authorities have taken away Viktoria Medvedeva's children because she allegedly slapped them.
