A fire has engulfed large parts of a refugee camp on the Greek island of Lesbos.

The camp known as Moria houses as many as 4,000 refugees from Africa, Syria, and Afghanistan.

Thousands have been forced to flee.

According to the Express, citing police sources, the blaze was started by the migrants before being fanned by the wind.

Tensions have escalated in the camp due to extended delays in processing asylum requests.

Emergency services say the fire is under control.
