Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo expressed hope that an informal summit of EU government in Bratislava would become the first step towards reforms of the European Union.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — EU President Donald Tusk talked about EU future reforms with Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo during a Warsaw meeting, which took place a few days before an informal summit of EU government and EU countries' leaders in Bratislava, Polish government spokesman Rafal Bochenek said at a press conference on Tuesday.

"The EU has to change, we have to reform it, and the EU government should not block these changes. Apathy, lack of attention to the voices of the societies of some member countries led, among other things, to Brexit," Bochenek said during a press conference.

According to Bochenek, Szydlo talked with Tusk about Poland's expectations from the summit and expressed hope that it would become the first step towards changes.

It was also stressed that Poland's statement at this meeting was drafted together with its Visegrad Group partners, Hungary, Slovakia and Czech Republic.
