    Russian Foreign Minister will meet with his counterpart from Luxembourg in Moscow on September 13.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will meet with his counterpart from Luxembourg Jean Asselborn in Moscow on September 13 to discuss the issues of Syrian settlement, as well as bilateral political and economic relations, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Thursday.

    "On September 13, the Russian foreign minister will hold a meeting in Moscow with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Asselborn, who will be in Russia on a working visit," Zakharova said at a press briefing.

    According to the spokeswoman, the ministers are expected to discuss the development of bilateral political dialogue and "intensification of contacts at the high and the highest level."

    Asselborn and Lavrov will also discuss the issue of resolution of the Syrian conflict, the prospects for resolving crises in the Middle East, fight against international terrorism and the situation in Ukraine, Zakharova said.

    On August 24, the Luxembourg Foreign Ministry’s office told Sputnik that Asselborn planned to travel to the Russian capital on September 12-13 for dialogue with Lavrov. Later that day, the Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that Asselborn's visit to Moscow for talks with Lavrov was scheduled.
