Barcelona Urban Guard detained two ultranationalists who attacked a pregnant Muslim woman and her husband.

The incident took place in the Old Town of the Catalan capital, reports El Mundo.

Two young men spotted a Muslim woman walking with her husband and two children in the street. Ultranationalists began to insult her as the victim was wearing a hijab, traditional Muslim attire.

The woman’s husband tried to protect her. To stop the fight, the pregnant lady stood between the men, and as a result one of the attackers hit her in the stomach.

Passers-by stood up for the Muslim family and called the police.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where doctors found out that the child's life is not in danger.

The police caught up with the attackers. They are suspected in propagating hate, discrimination and causing physical damage. The detainees are members of a radical organization and have previously been prosecuted for illegal activity.
