German police found on Wednesday pyrotechnics and Daesh flags during the search of the residence of a 27-year old man suspected of plotting a terrorist attack on the German town of Eisenhuettenstadt.

BERLIN (Sputnik) – The man reportedly planned to detonate a bomb packed with nails at a festival due to take place in Eisenhuettenstadt on August 26-28.

"On August 17, 2016, police forces detained the suspect. During the search of the living-room of the suspect['s residence] a small quantity of pyrotechnic products made outside Germany was found," police of the federal state of Brandenburg said in a statement.

According to the broadcaster RBB, police officers also found a flag and propaganda material related to the Islamic State terror group in the residence of the detained man.

In July, Germany witnessed a number of terror attacks allegedly organized by the Islamic State terror group, which is outlawed in Russia and many other countries.
