ROME (Sputnik) – According to Gentiloni, other EU member states act as if the problem of the migrant influx concerns only Italy and Greece.
"I believe that in September Italy will be forced to raise questions over the issue of migration," Gentiloni told Il Messaggero.
"There need to be commitments in the economic and organizational field, comparable to those we have agreed with Turkey," Gentiloni added.
Europe is currently facing a major refugee crisis, with hundreds of thousands of migrants attempting to reach wealthy EU member states through various routes, including via Italy, Greece, Turkey and the Balkan states. Despite Brussels' efforts to curb the migration influx, such as the migrant deal with Ankara, many people still continue to attempt to reach the European Union.
