MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Telegram account of one of the authors of the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray church attack in France is releasing new messages, French media report.
Two armed Islamists slit the throat of a priest after taking people hostage at the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray church in northern France last month. Adel Kermiche, one of the co-authors of the attack, was shot dead by police along with the second attacker on July 26, on the church square. Since then, Kermiche's private channel on Telegram, where he had broadcast numerous audio, had remained silent.
However, the French L’Express news magazine reported on Wednesday that the Telegram channel released new photos and audio on Tuesday night. The messages were removed ten minutes after publication, according to L’Express.
The man in the audio, whose voice does not match that of Adel Kermiche, congratulates his "brothers" on the attacks carried out in France, L’Express said.
The Daesh terrorist group, banned in a range of states including Russia, took responsibility for the Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray church attack.
The attack came in the wake of the Nice July 14 attack, in which a truck rammed into a large crowd celebrating Bastille Day in the French city killing at least 84 people, including children, and injuring hundreds of others.
