Two People Dead in Azerbaijan Arms Factory Blast - Ministry

At least two people died in an explosion at an arms factory in the eastern Azerbaijan city of Shirvan on Tuesday, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry said.

BAKU (Sputnik) — Azerbaijani authorities reported earlier on Tuesday at least 24 people were hospitalized after the blast at the Araz factory, which had been caused by sparks hitting objects aimed for disposal.

"Two people died as a result of the explosion at the arms factory in Shirvan," the ministry said in a statement, adding that both victims were civilian employees of the factory.
