"The SNP is, as usual, trying to seize on a moment of doubt and uncertainty to declare that the shining star of independence is the answer," she will say, adding this was "utterly unjustified" and "completely irresponsible."
Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said on June 24 that a new referendum was highly likely after 62 percent of Scots voted to remain in the bloc. She has assembled a panel of experts to look at possible options for keeping Scotland's place in the European Union.
In 2014, Scotland voted by 55 percent to 44 percent against independence. However, a June poll by Panelbase for The Sunday Times showed a change of heart, with 52 percent now backing sovereignty.
