Paris Authorities Ban Anti-Police Demonstration Ahead of Counter Rally
PARIS (Sputnik) — French President Francois Hollande said on Wednesday he fully supported the country’s police forces after a dozen were injured in clashes with protesters over labor reform bill, local media said.

Government spokesman Stephane Le Foll said the president had delivered "a very clear message of support for all police forces in this difficult context," during his meeting with the Ministerial Council, according to the French newspaper Les Echos.

The spokesman added that the French leader had urged to maintain "a perfect balance between the order and respect of our rights," the outlet reported.

A rally to denounce hatred against police forces is underway in central Paris. It was organized after 11 security forces were wounded in nationwide protests against a bill that seeks to relax hiring and firing rules. In the afternoon, a car was set on fire in Paris, prompting an inquiry into attempted homicide.
