MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Mohammed Abrini, suspected of involvement in last November's terrorist attacks, has been detained in Belgium, local broadcaster VRT reported Friday.
Abrini has been tied to Paris attacks suspect Salah Abdeslam, who was detained in Belgium in March. Security footage from a Ressons gas station, filmed in early November 2016, shows the two men together in a car that was later used in the attacks.
Local media have also linked Abrini to the recent terrorist attacks in Brussels, identifying him as the man accompanying suicide bombers Ibrahim and Khalid El Bakraoui to the airport on the day of the bombings.
