Brussels Attacks Suspect Najim Laachraoui Arrested
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Vienna does not have information about Austrian fatalities in the terrorist attacks in Brussels, an Austrian Foreign Ministry spokesperson told Sputnik on Wednesday.

"There is no confirmation at the moment that there are Austrian nationals among the victims. We are not expecting that to be the case," the spokesperson said.

On Tuesday, at least 31 people were killed and some 260 injured in two bomb blasts in Brussels' Zaventem airport and an explosion in the city's subway. The Daesh jihadist group, which is outlawed in many countries, including Russia and the United States, claimed responsibility for the attacks.

Following the attacks, Austria raised the threat level for its citizens traveling to Belgium and the surrounding area, describing it as "a region with an increased security risk."
