"The Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom strongly recommends that Russian citizens in the territory of the United Kingdom refrain from visiting crowded places, exercise caution and vigilance,’ the statement read.
The embassy reminded that the current terrorist threat levels in the United Kingdom stood at the value of four out of five.
"In light of the terrorist attacks in Brussels, the British law enforcement agencies announced today boosting of police presence in places of paramount importance, including transport hubs, as a safety precaution and to ensure public safety," the statement added.
Earlier in the day, a series of blasts hit Brussels' Zaventem airport and a central metro station, killing at least 34 people and injuring around 230 others. The Belgian authorities are treating the explosions as part of a coordinated terrorist attack.
