MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Abdeslam was arrested during Friday’s police raid in Brussels and formally charged on Saturday with terrorism in connection with November 13 attacks. He admitted that he had planned to detonate his suicide vest but changed his mind.

The suspected terrorist escaped to the district of Molenbeek in the Belgian capital where he was caught after being on the run for four months. France hopes to have him extradited soon.

"The first comment coming from Salah Abdeslam was yesterday that he wanted to go to the Stade de France in Paris and be a suicide bomber but he stopped – we don’t know why – and the next information is that he was ready to restart something from Brussels," Reynders said at a Brussels forum on countering terror abroad.
