BRUSSELS (Sputnik) — On Wednesday, reports emerged that thousands of documents identifying 22,000 Daesh supporters in more than 50 countries had been leaked to Britain’s Sky News television channel. A former Free Syrian Army convert to Daesh, who reportedly called himself Abu Hamed, is said to have handed over the data on a memory stick.
According to the Belgian De Tijd newspaper, two Daesh militants, Abu Hamza Belgiki and Abu Saif Belgiki, used to be the residents of the eastern Belgian town of Verviers, located in the province of Liege, while Abou Nour Jazeri was from the city of Liege. All three hold Belgian citizenship.
The documents received by the British TV channel resembled enrollment forms, consisting of 23 questions about Daesh supporters' full names, telephone numbers, blood type, skills and other personal data.
The lists reportedly feature both notorious individuals and previously unknown supporters of the terrorist group, which is outlawed in Russia and the United States among other countries.
