    Spanish Police Say Detain 9 People Over Links to PKK

    Nine people linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party detained in Spain .

    MADRID (Sputnik) Spain's national police announced on Wednesday the detention of nine people linked to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

    "In Madrid, Valencia and Bilbao, nine people have been detained in an operation against the PKK terrorist organization structure," police said in a Twitter posting.

    Police also conducted eleven searches during the operation.

    PKK is outlawed in the United States, the European Union and Turkey.
