MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Russia is not interested in the weakening or splitting of the European Union and prefers to build its relations with a strong and united partner, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.
“We are not interested that the EU becomes weak or even that any cracks appear that would make it split. We are interested in a united and strong EU, with which it is comfortable to work in the economy and all other issues, but we cannot but see what’s happening,” Lavrov said at his annual press conference.
