BRUSSELS (Sputnik) – According to the statement, three explosive belts were also found in the apartment which had been rented by a person with counterfeit documents. The apartment was located in the Schaerbeek municipality.
"Within the framework of the investigation launched after the attacks in Paris, the federal prosecutor confirms that during a home raid on December 10 <…> a material was found which could be used in making explosives, as well as traces of triacetone triperoxide [detonating material]," the statement read.
On November 13, extremists carried out a series of coordinated attacks at various locations in the French capital, killing 130 people and injuring over 350 others.

Islamic State (IS, or Daesh in Arabic) claimed responsibility for the attacks. The organization is outlawed in many countries, including Russia. A number of terrorists allegedly responsible for the attacks traveled to Paris from Belgium, according to police.
