MOSCOW (Sputnik) — On Monday, Sweden imposed identity checks on people arriving in the country from the Danish territory in order to reduce the influx of refugees. Soon after that, Denmark introduced temporary border controls at the country's border with Germany to curb the flow of migrants arriving to its territory.
"It is not very good neighbor behavior first to attract hundreds of refugees and then to close the border," Knuth told Denmark's Jyllands-Posten newspaper.
He added that Stockholm's irresponsible policy became a "huge headache" for Copenhagen.
Europe is currently struggling to cope with a massive refugee influx, with hundreds of thousands of refugees fleeing conflict-torn countries of the Middle East and North Africa in search of asylum in stable and wealthy EU states, such as Sweden.
