According to the French interior minister, the terrorist threat in the country was "very high" at the moment.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — French authorities have dismantled at least 18 terrorist recruitment channels and arrested 11 terrorist groups since 2013, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said Tuesday.

"We have neutralized 18 recruitment channels across the country <…> We have arrested 11 groups that could have conducted attacks. We have also foiled six attacks," Cazeneuve told RTL radio.

France has recently beefed up security and started active nationwide searches for Islamist jihadists in the wake of the deadly November 13 attacks in Paris that claimed lives of 130 people.
