MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Earlier in the week, it was reported in the media that the Bulgarian gas company Overgas Inc. AD had not received any confirmation from Russia's energy giant Gazprom about the continuation of gas deliveries to Bulgaria.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Russia was still supplying Bulgaria with natural gas, although it was being delivered to the country's national gas company Bulgargaz not via Overgas Inc. AD.

"The deliveries of Russian natural gas to Bulgaria are underway continuously through Bulgargaz state company in the quantity of 3 billion cubic meters which meets country's needs throughout the year," the ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, Russia's cooperation with Overgas Inc. AD, which used to provide about 10 percent of Bulgaria's gas needs, is under discussion because of commercial issues, which have accumulated in recent years.
