Kiev Forces Confirm Withdrawal of Less Than 100mm Caliber Arms in Donbass

Kiev forces have completed the withdrawal of artillery of under 100-mm caliber from the contact line in eastern Ukraine, the country's special operations spokesman Leonid Matyukhin said Friday.

KIEV (Sputnik) – Kiev and the Donbass self-proclaimed people's republics reached an agreement to withdraw arms of a caliber of less than 100mm from the line of contact in late September.

According to the accord, the sides had 41 days to fully withdraw such weapons. The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) monitors its implementation.

“Our side has completed the withdrawal [of weaponry], yesterday was the last day of the OSCE verification,” Matyukhin told the local TV channel 112 Ukraine.

In February, Russia, France, Germany and Ukraine signed a deal on the Ukrainian reconciliation, which included a ceasefire. Kiev and Donetsk and Lugansk people's republics have accused each other of breaching the agreement, however, according to the OSCE, since September 1, the ceasefire in eastern Ukraine has finally been observed.
