MOSCOW (Sputnik) — A five-year-old died and nine other youths were injured after a bus carrying 59 children overturned on Friday on an autobahn near the eastern German city of Erfurt, local media reported.
According to the German newspaper Bild, the bus tipped over at around 2:30 p.m. local time (13:00 GMT) while overtaking a car on a road to Dresden.
"The driver seemingly lost control [of the vehicle] and it skidded off the road," the outlet cited a police spokesperson as saying.
The German newspaper said the children came from a small town of Annaberg-Buchholz, in eastern Germany. Five of the passengers received heavy injuries. Five adults were also on board.
