MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The decision to oust Yatsenyuk may come in the coming days at the daily parliamentary coalition meeting, the newspaper cited a source close to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s administration as saying.
"Yatsenyuk’s government has nothing to boast about to the world, nor to their own people," the Petro Poroshenko Bloc lawmaker Mykola Tomenko was quoted as saying.
Yatsenyuk’s People’s Front, which holds 82 seats in the Ukrainian parliament, did not put forward a single candidate in Sunday’s mayoral and municipal elections.
The outlet’s sources argue that the likelihood of Finance Minister Jaresko replacing Yatsenyuk hinges on her economic expertise, as well as the support from the United States and the European Union. Another key factor pointing toward the finance minister is, unlike Yatsenyuk or Governor of Odesa region Mikheil Saakashvili, Jaresko has not outwardly challenged Poroshenko as an independent politician.
Others cite past instances predicting Yatsenyuk’s ouster, as well as his own willingness to leave, as an argument in favor of the post-elections status quo.
