Spanish PM Proposes 'Dialogue Within Legal Boundaries' With Catalonia
Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy demanded an end to "uncertainty, instability and division" within Catalan society, stating that his description of current events in the region has lasted too long.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on Wednesday urged Catalonia to begin a "process of normalization" and suggested a dialogue within legal boundaries between Madrid and Catalan authorities.
“I suggest a dialogue within the legal boundaries,” Rajoy stated, speaking at the parliament.

He also demanded an end to "uncertainty, instability and division" within Catalan society, stating that his description of current events in the region has lasted too long.
On Tuesday, Catalan leader Artur Mas was summoned to Spain’s High Court to clarify his role in holding a November 2014 vote on Catalan sovereignty, which Madrid claimed was illegitimate.
Earlier in September, two pro-independence factions secured a majority in the Catalan parliament in a local election.
