Ukrainian border guards in cooperation with their Slovak and Hungarian counterparts detained two groups of undocumented migrants on Ukraine's borders with Slovakia and Hungary, the press service of the Ukrainian State Border Service said Thursday.

KIEV (Sputnik) — Ukrainian border guards in cooperation with their Hungarian colleagues also detained two Syrian citizens not far from the Ukrainian-Hungarian border, according to the Border Service.

All the detainees were delivered to a temporary detention center, pending court hearings.

"As part of the joint operation on the Ukrainian-Slovak border a large group of undocumented migrants was detained…. The Response Team, which went to a location known to be used by the offenders, detained 11 people who intended bypassing [the border] checkpoints during the search. Eight of the detainees said they were citizens of Vietnam, and three of Bangladesh, " the service said in a statement.
