    The new party will defend the original SYRIZA platform, which has gone "through a total mutation in the last months," according to the party's spokesman.

    MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The newly-formed left-wing Popular Unity party will participate in snap parliamentary elections expected to be held in Greece by the end of September, party spokesman Kostas Isychos told Sputnik on Friday.

    "Yes, that is why we created our political group," Isychos said answering the question whether the party was going to take part in the upcoming elections.

    He specified that the new party is going to defend the original SYRIZA platform, which has gone "through a total mutation in the last months."
