Two carriages of a British passenger train travelling through the countryside in Kent were thrown off the track late Sunday after the train hit a herd of cows that had strayed onto the line, a UK railway authority said.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The accident happened between the villages of Wye and Chilham to a train that was going from Ashford to Canterbury.

The local Itv news service quoted a Kent Fire and Rescue spokesman saying that two carriages had been derailed but were since put back in the upright position.

Southeastern Trains warned there could be possible alternations to Monday’s schedule following the derailment.
