Interpol Creates Crypto Currency to Fight Cybercrime
MOSCOW (Sputnik) The UK National Crime Agency (NCA) engaged two international US-based security companies, Intel Security and Trend Micro, to improve real time ability to monitor and mitigate cybercrime, the BBC reported Friday.

“Security firms have a far greater understanding of the threats in terms of what they see on a day-to-day basis,” head of the NCA's Cyber Crime Unit Andy Archibald told the broadcaster.

The companies are expected to assist the agency in identifying criminals, computer infrastructure they apply, equipment they use and places where attacks are carried out, Archibald added.

Over the past months, the two companies have helped to arrest a number of perpetrators, convicted for producing malware and laundering money online, according to the unit head.
