MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The European Union must begin a reset with Russia and work constantly to renew relations, Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said Thursday.
"Western cooperation with Russia is important not only in regard to Ukraine, a region, it is important for the entire world — in North Africa, in the Middle East, and for fighting challenges that the jihad is throwing at all of us. It's important for solving the issue of Iran's nuclear program and a whole range of international and regional challenges," the Greek prime minister said during a speech at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
Tsipras said that that a reset in relations with Russia would aid in energy cooperation and the freedom of movement.
"We need to begin a reset in relations with Russia to prevent international challenges in energy cooperation and the freedom of movement of people," Tsipras added.
