The state system of Ukraine should undergo changes and take the form of a confederation, said the former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing.

Former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing said that it is necessary to move towards the creation of a Ukrainian confederation, which will be based on respect for all its members.

The state system of Ukraine should undergo changes and take the form of a confederation, said the former French President Valery Giscard d'Estaing.

"I believe that we need to move towards the creation of a Ukrainian confederation, which will be based on respect for all its members," Giscard d'Estaing said.

He noted that Ukraine could become a bridge between the EU and Russia.

D'Estaing also expressed dissatisfaction with the current relations between Russia and France. "Russia is our partner, it must be our preferred partner, our relationship should be developed in a spirit of mutual respect and dialogue," the former president said.

Giscard d'Estaing also said that France, in his opinion, should intensively invest in Russia and do whatever is necessary to increase the volume of trade between the two countries.
