DPR to Provide Security, Calls on OSCE to Oversee Arms Withdrawal
MOSCOW (Sputnik) Self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) rescuers, militia and volunteers found at least 30 bodies of Ukrainian servicemen while removing debris at Donetsk Airport, the DPR Defense Ministry said Thursday.

"Today, the Emergencies Ministry, militia and volunteers took part in debris removal. The bodies of at least 30 Ukrainian soldiers were discovered during the debris removal,” Donetsk News Agency cited a spokesperson from the DPR Defense Ministry as saying.

The Donetsk Airport was the site of some of the most violent fighting between Kiev forces and DPR militia. The clashes between the warring sides left the location in ruins.

The hostilities at the airport came to an end once the ceasefire came into force on February 15. The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) has reinforced its ceasefire monitoring mission in several areas in southeastern Ukraine, including at Donetsk Airport.

On Wednesday, Joan Audierne, the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Donetsk, said that ICRC workers were ready to participate in the removal of debris at the airport.
