The announcement follows the 15th delivery of over 200 tons of humanitarian aid by Moscow to eastern Ukraine last Friday.

The region is currently on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe due to a military operation carried out by Kiev forces against independence supporters since April 2014 and requires foreign aid.

In total, since August 2014, Russia has provided over 20,000 tons of food and medical supplies, grain, water, clothes, power generators and construction materials to the suffering population of Ukraine's southeast.
