Erin McQuade, 18, and her grandparents Jack Sweeney, 68, and Lorraine Sweeney, 69, from Dunbarton were killed when the vehicle veered out of control on George Square at 2:30 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The Dunbarton Reporter newspaper reports that relatives of the deceased John Sweeney left a message on a social networking site to express the family's grief. "No words can describe the pain. R.I.P. Jack, Lorraine and Erin. Thoughts and prayers go out to the other families that lost loved ones as well."
Stephanie Tait was a teacher at St. Philomena's primary school in the city. School principal Catherine Gallagher told Sky News, "Stephenie made a wonderful contribution to the life of St Philomena's. She will be sadly missed by both pupils and staff."
The police also announced that six people are currently receiving treatment at hospitals in Glasgow, including the driver of the lorry, and a further four have been discharged after receiving treatment for their injuries.
An investigation is underway into the cause of the crash, which happened on a busy afternoon in the city center, packed with Christmas shoppers and visitors to the city's winter carnival. Police announced on Tuesday afternoon that areas cordoned off after the incident were now open, and appealed for any further information from members of the public.
