Egypt Interested in Cooperation With Russian Companies in Energy, Other Areas
17:57 GMT 12.12.2016 (Updated: 17:58 GMT 12.12.2016) Egypt is interested in cooperation with Russian companies in all areas, including energy, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Sisi said Monday during a meeting with Rosneft CEO Igor Sechin in Cairo.
MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The presidential administration said in a statement:
"The president reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to cooperate with Russian companies in all spheres, including oil and gas sector, taking into account the immense experience and potential of Russian companies."
Sisi also welcomed the steps taken by Rosneft to expand its business in Egypt.
"These steps confirm commitment of both sides to strengthen strategic cooperation in various areas," he added.
During his visit to Cairo on Monday, Sechin held talks on bilateral cooperation in energy sphere with high-level officials of the Egyptian government and with president Sisi.
