The conditions for Russian natural gas supplies to Ukraine under existing contract between Russia's Gazprom and Ukraine's Naftogaz cannot be altered, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said Wednesday.

MINSK (Sputnik) — Novak added that the price of $177 per 1,000 cu m for gas deliveries to Ukraine in the second quarter "is absolutely comfortable" and reflects the current market situation.

"Our key argument is that the existing contract until 2019 fully stipulates all contractual commitments between the two companies," Novak told reporters in Minsk.

"It has been our strong standpoint from the very beginning that no changes in the contract can be made until the end of 2019," Novak stressed.
