"The program to diversify from oil entails a huge win-win and huge synergies from the interaction between Saudi Arabia and Russia on economic restructuring," Dmitriev said on the sidelines of the annual World Economic Forum in the Swiss town of Davos.
He added that the June 2015 meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) laid the foundation for this cooperation.
Dmitriev pointed out that besides $10 billion Saudi Arabia decided to invest in Russia, the sides were planning a broad cooperation in several important areas, including Saudi investment in the Russian agriculture business, logistics and chemical companies, as well as the various projects in Saudi Arabia in the field of nuclear cooperation and construction.
In July, RDIF and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) of Saudi Arabia agreed to create a partnership to invest $10 billion into projects implemented in Russia.
