Alexander Lebedev, a billionaire and co-owner of the Russian flagship air carrier Aeroflot, has nominated his 15-month-old son Yegor to the company’s board of directors, the Prime news agency reported on Tuesday.

MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti) - Alexander Lebedev, a billionaire and co-owner of the Russian flagship air carrier Aeroflot, has nominated his 15-month-old son Yegor to the company’s board of directors, the Prime news agency reported on Tuesday.

Aeroflot said on its official website that Yegor Lebedev was nominated as a member of the board of directors. According to open sources, Yegor was born in November 2011.

The company’s board of directors approved a list of 14 nominees, including Yegor. Eleven of them will be elected as board members at the forthcoming annual shareholders’ meeting.

Lebedev’s National Reserve Bank (NRB), which, according to various sources, holds a stake in Aeroflot estimated at between eight and 11 percent, also recommended Andrey Manoylo, the chairman of the NRB governing board, and Sergei Aleksashenko, the macroeconomics research director at the Higher School of Economics.

Russian opposition figurehead Alexei Navalny, who was elected to the Aeroflot board of directors in June 2012, following Lebedev’s nomination, was not included in this year’s list. Sources close to Lebedev said Navalny fell short of Lebedev’s expectations.
