Russia's Gazprom has signed a $190 million contract with FMC Technologies oil service company from the U.S. for equipment supplies for the Kirinsky gas deposit development on the Sakhalin shelf, FMC said on Thursday.

Russia's Gazprom has signed a $190 million contract with FMC Technologies oil service company from the U.S. for equipment supplies for the Kirinsky gas deposit development on the Sakhalin shelf, FMC said on Thursday.

FMC said in a statement that the contract was its first shelf project in Russia, where it will deliver equipment produced on its Scottish and Norwegian subsidiaries in the first quarter of 2011.

The Kirinsky gas condensate field is located in the Kirinsky block of the Sakhalin-3 project on the shelf of the Sea of Okhotsk. Kirinsky's reserves amount to 100 billion cubic meters of gas. The deposit will supply gas to the Sakhalin-Khabarovsk-Vladivostok gas transportation system project.

Earlier in July, Gazprom Deputy Chairman Alexander Ananenkov said that the company was continuing geological exploration. Gazprom plans to start gas production at the Kirinsky deposit by the end of 2011.
