Rosoboronexport as the organizer of the defence-related part of the Russian exhibition presents about 50 works and organisations of the national defence-industrial complex, he said.
"It will be the fourth appearance of Rosoboronexport at the London air show. The defence portion of our exhibition occupies a much larger floor space in comparison with the previous show", Smelyakov noted.
At 12:00, local time, on July 20 the Russian delegation will give a press conference in the Radlett Suite of the press centre. On July 21 the presentation of the radar-picket Ka-31 helicopter, in which OAO Kamov general designer Sergei Mikheev, Hero of Russia, will partake, will be held in the same place for foreign delegations and media men.
Among the new Russian exhibits at Farnborough Smelyakov cited a new on-board radar development - the BRLS Zhuk-MFE for Su-30 fighters.
"This radar has proved its worth in flight tests in Russia. It is offered to foreign partners among new supplies or for the modernisation of earlier supplied fighters of a previous make", Alexander Smelyakov said.
He also noted the new range of different classes of aircraft missiles, such as the air-to-air R-27P, R-27EP and the air-to-surface H-59MK of increased range.
Alexander Smelyakov has called Farnborough'2004 the most prestigious air show in the world and the key event in world aircraft manufacturing.
Farnborough air shows began in 1932. Since 1984 the USSR has been exhibiting here civil and, since 1988, military equipment.
According to the organising committee, over 1,000 companies and firms from almost 50 countries will participate this year.
