MOSCOW, March 9 (RIA Novosti) - This year, the Russian Gazprom concern is planning to have 1,900 km of its main gas pipelines repaired. The total cost of the project is over 22.5 billion rubles (with one dollar being roughly equivalent to 29 rubles).
According to information received by RIA Novosti Tuesday, capital repairs of some 1,350 km of main gas pipelines were carried out last year, with more than 16 billion rubles spent for this purpose.
Alexander Ananenkov, deputy chairman of the Gazprom board, discussed with Bogdan Budzulyak, chief of Gazprom's department for gas transportation, underground storage and use, as well as chief engineers of Gazprom's subsidiaries and contractor organizations' heads, some issues related to the strategy and organization of capital repairs of gas pipelines, repairs of pipelines' insulation coating, diagnostics of pipeline systems and the improvement of repair work on gas pipelines.
