BAKU, MARCH 1 (RIA NOVOSTI) - President of Azerbaijan Ilkham Aliyev left for Kazakhstan on a two-day official visit on Monday.

Before the flight he told journalists that he was going to discuss a wide range of issues. He will hold negotiations on bilateral relations since Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are countries significant for each other. The point at issue will be the situation in the region, cooperation in power engineering and Kazakhstan's joining the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan project.

According to Mr. Aliyev, Azerbaijan wants oil of other states to go via its territory so that to become a transit country.

He also pointed out that for Kazakhstan, who is going to greatly increase oil output in the future, it is also important to have alternative export routes.

At the same time, Mr. Aliyev pointed out that there is enough oil in Azerbaijan for the profitability of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline.
