MOSCOW, February 26 (RIA Novosti correspondent Alexander Bratersky) - Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul pointed out the great role of Russian companies in the privatization of Turkey's state sector. Russian companies have already invested 2 billion dollars in Turkey, Gul told a press conference in Moscow on Thursday following his visit to Russia.

In particular, he spoke about the Russian company Tatneft's participation in the privatization of Turkey's oil complex.

According to the Turkish Foreign Minister, an agreement to increase mutual trade turnover up to 10 billion dollars was achieved during his visit.

Turkey is popular with Russian tourists, Gul said. Over one million Russians visited Turkey in 2003, he added.
