MOSCOW, February 20 (RIA Novosti). On Friday the Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Kasyanov told the meeting of the Council on Entrepreneurship of the RF Government that the tax reform would be completed by 2005. In this respect all decisions should be made during 2004.
"The problems of Value Added Tax and the Single Social Tax are being considered now," the Prime Minister said.
"This year the government will take up a decision reducing the Single Social Tax rate and consider the possibility to change the system of its estimation and payment." In Mr Kasyanov's opinion, this is a complicated problem that has never been properly considered. "The Finance Ministry delayed it, but we shall discuss the issue during the next session of the Council on Enterpreneurship," the Prime Minister stressed.
According to Mr Kasyanov, it is important that social sphere would is not become a victim of the tax rates reduction. The reform is to give a new impetus to Russian entrepreneurship.
