RUSSIAN DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER IS OPTIMISTIC ABOUT COOPERATION WITH BRAZIL IN HI-TECH

BRAZILIA, FEBRUARY 18 (RIA NOVOSTI CORRESPONDENT VLADIMIR STEPANOV) - Russian Deputy Prime Minister Boris Alyoshin believes Russia and Brazil can develop cooperation in high technologies.

"Russia and Brazil have many points of contact for developing cooperation in high technologies," he said in an interview with the agency upon arrival in the Brazilian capital from Sao-Paulo, a major city of the country where he acquainted himself on Tuesday with the work of Avibras and Embraer aerospace enterprises.

"I have been impressed with what I saw and think we will develop relations in aircraft and armaments. The Brazilian side has interesting solutions in the field of powder propellant production and in controlled weapons." Boris Alyoshin arrived in Brazil to take part in the work of the Russian-Brazilian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technical cooperation.
