MOSCOW, February 4, 2004. (RIA Novosti) -- President Vladimir Putin has welcomed delegates of the 5th Moscow congress of Russia's Mining and Metallurgic Labor Union on Wednesday.
Vice Premier Galina Karelova read out the President's message at the congress.
According to Vladimir Putin, metallurgy "is one of the main economic sectors, which conditions the industrial power of our state." Metallurgical enterprises undergo a difficult stage of reforms and search for new forms of social partnership.
"Labor unions are actively involved in this process. I am convinced that your responsible activities aimed at the constructive dialogue between the authorities, business, and labor organizations will help to consolidate ties of employers and employees and the development of the branch as a whole," reads the Russian President's message.
