MOSCOW, January 27, 2004 (RIA Novosti) -- US Secretary of State Colin Powell said in an interview with the Ekho Moskvy radio station on Tuesday that Russia has the opportunity of obtaining subcontracts for Russian companies in Iraq.
Russia backs our intentions to build democracy in Iraq. It helped us achieve confirmation of Resolution 1511, he noted.
It is up to the Iraqi people to decide what opportunities to give to these or other companies to develop oil deposits, Colin Powell said.
