"Every year the level of inflation grows in January, and this year is no exception. The monitoring of the first days of the year shows that the inflation growth repeats last year's tendencies," Kasyanov said.
He also pointed out that the prices of foods and non-food products are not growing now, but the price of services to the population increases considerably. The point at issue, according to him, is the housing and municipal services. The cost of water supply and sewerage system increased by 10 percent since the beginning of January. There are regions where these indices grew still more.
Kasyanov instructed vice-premier Vladimir Yakovlev to analyze the situation in the regions so as the necessary measures could be taken.
The Central Bank, the Finance Ministry, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry should analyze the figures in other spheres and ensure that inflation is no more than 10 percent this year.
