MOSCOW, January 21st, 2004 (RIA Novosti correspondent) - Chairman of the World Bank James Wolfensohn believes that Russia should assign priority to implementing the government's reform programme regarding the economic diversification and the social sphere, he said at a press conference in Moscow on Wednesday.

Wolfensohn noted that his numerous meetings with Russian businessmen, journalists and private persons in the Russian capital confirmed Russia's consolidated position on the reform programme.

In general, there is a universal agreement on what needs to be done. And I think Russia now has a president who is certain that this programme needs to be translated into life. I personally trust him and his policy, said Wolfensohn.
